To provide an image display device which can be started with the operation state restoring the state before a power-supply disconnection as much as possible even when the power-supply disconnection is caused in any timing during the operation.
Disclosed is a rear projector having a control board performing driving control of a device main body, and the control board has an arithmetic processing section which updates operation state data as settings of the rear projector are changed and a memory which has a plurality storage areas and store updated operation state data in the respective storage areas. The arithmetic processing section has a data update portion which records the operation state data corresponding to change of the settings in the respective storage areas of the memory, a correct/incorrect decision portion which decides whether the operation state data recorded in the respective storage areas are normal when the rear projector is started, and a start processing portion which performs start processing of the rear projector based upon operation state data decided as normal data.
