To provide an image display device which suppresses display delay time of a part to be gazed in a finder moving image by a photographer.

The image display device includes; an imaging device in which light receiving elements are arrayed for photoelectrically converting a subject image and which enables image signals outputted from the light receiving elements to be read by random access; a gaze point input part which variably designates a gaze point within a photographing screen by the imaging device; a control part which sets an image signal read start position of the imaging device within a gaze area corresponding to the gaze point; and an electronic finder part which generates a finder moving image on the basis of the image signals and successively displays the finder moving image from the corresponding position of the gaze area.
