This image display device is formed with an insulating layer 12 serving as an electron accelerating layer held between a lower electrode 11 formed on a substrate and an upper electrode 13 disposed in its upper part, an electron source to emit an electron from the upper electrode side by impressing a voltage between the upper electrode and the lower electrode, a phosphor, an upper bus electrode to feed the upper electrode. The upper bus electrode is formed with a first metal layer of Cu and a second metal layer coated on the first metal layer.
