Abstract:
To provide an image display device capable of suppressing outer shape size from becoming needlessly great without spoiling display property of a display panel.SOLUTION: An image display device 2 includes: a display panel 18 having a display region 36 and a frame region 38; a light control panel 20 arranged facing a back surface of the display panel 18 and having a light control region 56 and a periphery region 58; and a controller 24 for controlling to switch from one to another of an image display mode for displaying an image on the display panel 18 as well as switching the light control panel 20 to a non-transmission state and a transmission mode having the image on the display panel 18 be non-display as well as switching the light control panel 20 to a transmission state. The peripheral region 58 of the light control panel 20 is arranged to overlap with the frame region 38 of the display panel 18 in plane view.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
