Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a decrease in picture quality due to response delay of an image display element and a wobbling element as to the image display device which displays an image of high resolution by shifting pixels through optical wobbling operation.
SOLUTION: The image display device which is constituted by arranging a TN cell 14 consisting of a liquid crystal plate for polarized light conversion and a birefringent plate on the front side of an LCD 13 which is driven with a video signal and displays an image of high resolution by shifting pixels through wobbling operation; and the LCD 13 is driven with a corrected video signal generated by a correcting circuit 7 inputtired with a video signal of a precedent field stored in a field memory 8, a video signal of a current field, and a field discrimination signal from a field discriminant circuit 16 to reduce a decrease in picture quality due to the response delay of the LCD 13 and TN cell 14.
