Abstract:
Provided is an image display system for a vehicle with which it is possible for provided information to be displayed on a front windshield in a manner that is easily understandable for a driver. A detecting unit (2) detects the situation around the vehicle using a stereo camera and sensors. A display control unit (3) then uses a HUD device (4) to project toward a front windshield (15) of the vehicle a right-eye image and a left-eye image which form a stereoscopic image of the information detected by the detecting unit (2). If the detected information is an image captured by the stereo camera, a captured right-eye image and left-eye image are projected, and if the detected information is from a sensor, a right-eye image and a left-eye image of a rendered image based on the information are created and projected. An occupant of the vehicle can thus check the information from the stereoscopic image by means of binocular parallax.
