If pictures are taken in an initial condition without setting the time of the image equipment, the elapse of time from immediately after the acquisition of image data to the next time setting is counted by a timer and a count value is stored in a main memory together with the image data and the imaging time. If the recording media is temporarily removed before the next time setting and if the imaging equipment is reset, the timer is reset. If the recording media is not removed after imaging, the imaging time stored in the main memory when the next time setting for the image equipment is carried out since the image data is acquired is corrected into the time equal to the current time minus the count value. When a plurality of images exist, the imaging time of the image selected by the user is corrected.
