Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image evaluation method having improved accuracy of the evaluation of image quality, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image evaluation method includes the steps of converting input image information into the physical characteristic quantity, such as luminance information, acquiring then the amount of periodic banding and the amount of non-periodic banding, respectively, and weighting the amounts before adding the amounts to each other. Thus, the combination of the periodic banding and non-periodic banding can improve detection accuracy.
