Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an image fiber capable of transmitting visible light of every wavelength with almost the equal light quantity. CONSTITUTION:Many codes 1 with the diameter gradually changing in its longitudinal direction are arranged at random in a common clad 2 and regularly spaced to constitute an image fiber. The preform of this image fiber is obtained by stuffing many optical fibers with the diameter of the core gradually changing in its longitudinal direction in a glass tube at random, and the preform is drawn to obtain a desired image fiber.
