Abstract:
To generate correction information for positional deviation correction between a front surface and a rear surface at the two-sided printing even when a partial reading element becomes abnormal.SOLUTION: A CPU 111 detects the abnormality in each of first reading parts (reading elements 291, 292) and each of second reading parts (reading elements 293, 294). In a case where the detection result indicates that the entire region of a corresponding mark in a test chart can be read by the first reading parts, and there is a region that cannot be read in the entire region of the corresponding mark by the second reading parts, the CPU 111 controls the conveyance of the test chart using an inversion part 270 (inversion mechanism) when acquiring each distance by reading the mark of the test chart, and performs control to read both surfaces of the test chart by the first reading parts (inversion mode).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
