Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem when a document including a blank page is copied and bound that bookbinding processing cannot be executed for the number of sheets out of the range of the number of sheets with which the bookbinding processing is possible, by the setting of a blank skip function.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image reading section for reading a document; a detection section for detecting whether or not the read image is blank; a storage section for storing the read image and the blank detection result together; a calculation section for calculating the number of sheets to be printed; a determination section for determining whether or not the bookbinding processing with the calculated number of sheets is possible; and a control section for performing a control not to execute the bookbinding print processing when the determination section determines that the bookbinding processing is not possible. The control section changes the setting of whether or not a blank image page is printed, to perform bookbinding printing when the bookbinding processing is determined to be possible with the number of sheets calculated by changing the setting of whether or not a blank image page is printed.
