Abstract:
To reduce variations in image quality even when a reference value for preventing variations in image quality is changed in accordance with a change in the type of paper.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus of the present invention comprises: output means that outputs, to output paper, a print image obtained by combining gradation patches for gradation correction; color measuring means that measures the colors of the gradation patches from an output printed image; first storage means that stores the type of paper registered in a paper feed stage in association with a reference value; derivation means that derives a correction value from the reference value and a result of color measurement performed by the color measuring means; and correction means that corrects the gradation of the print image on a subsequent page by using the correction value. The image forming apparatus performs registration or deletion of the reference value based on a change in the type of paper registered in the paper feed stage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
