Abstract:
To automatically select a representative apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus selects a representative apparatus from a plurality of image forming apparatuses, and comprises: a signal receiving unit that receives, from the representative apparatus, a signal indicating that the representative apparatus is in operation; an evaluation value transmission unit that, when the signal is not received for a certain period, transmits, to the other image forming apparatus, an evaluation value for selection of the representative apparatus; and a comparison result receiving unit that receives, from the other image forming apparatus, a result of comparison in which the other image forming apparatus determines based on the evaluation value. When the comparison result receiving unit receives, from all the image forming apparatuses other than the subject apparatus, notification that the apparatuses accept the subject apparatus as the representative apparatus, the subject apparatus is selected as the representative apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
