Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having an electrophotographic photoreceptor which is suitable for high speed process and is excellent in sensitivity characteristics and durability.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has an electrophotographic photoreceptor, a charging section, a first external energy imparting section, a developing section and a transfer section. The first external energy imparting section imparts a first external energy to a switch layer so that insulation property of the switch layer is changed to conductivity to form an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the electrographic photoreceptor. The electrographic photoreceptor has a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer includes the switch layer and a charge for charging transport layer. The charge for charging transport layer has a plurality of rod-like conductors and a binder resin for the charge for charging transport layer. The rod-like conductor is arranged substantially vertically to the charge for charging transport layer, and passes through the charge for charging transport layer. The rod-like conductor has at least a first tip. The first tip of the rod-like conductor does not come in contact with the conductive base.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
