Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the creation time of a booklet.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus determines whether or not a collective cutting mode is selected as a cutting method of a saddle stitch bundle (S100). When the collective cutting mode is selected, the image forming apparatus lays out images of four pages on each of the front and the rear sides of each sheet S1 so that the pages of a booklet S2 is in the correct order, the booklet S2 being created by putting together a plurality of cut bundles formed by the collective cutting mode (S110). On the other hand, when an individual cutting mode is selected, the image forming apparatus lays out images of four pages on each of the front and the rear sides of each sheet S1 so that the pages of a booklet S2 is in the correct order, the booklet S2 being created by putting together a plurality of cut bundles formed by the individual cutting mode (S150). When completing layout printing corresponding to the collective cutting mode or the individual cutting mode, the image forming apparatus sequentially outputs the sheet S1 having the layout printing performed thereon to a post-processing device 3 for the following step (S120). After completing the layout of the images of the present booklet, the image forming apparatus performs the layout of the images of the next booklet (S130 and S140).
