To provide an image forming apparatus for obtaining a desired high-gloss or low-gloss image with simple constitution.

The image forming apparatus is equipped with a fixing device where recording material with a toner image composed of toner containing wax formed thereon is heated and pressurized by a nip part formed between a plurality of members, thereby fixing the toner image on the recording material. The apparatus is equipped with a compressed air injecting means for injecting compressed air to the recording material passing through the nip part, and a temperature changing means for changing the temperature of the compressed air injected from the compressed air injecting means.
