In an image forming apparatus for forming an image using a photoreceptor with its temperature raised with a photoreceptor heater, when the whole photoreceptor is measured under a regular temperature, the photoreceptor has a highly electrifiable area having a relatively high electrification ability and a low electrifiable area having a relatively low electrification ability. When the temperature of the whole photoreceptor is raised by the photoreceptor heater in the image forming apparatus, the photoreceptor has a high-temperature area with a relatively high temperature and a low-temperature area with a relatively low temperature. The highly electrifiable area agrees with the high-temperature area and the low electrifiable area agrees with the low-temperature area.
