To control a power source depending on the presence/absence of a user in an installation area, and to control print processing of an incomplete job data item on restart.

There are included: a power management section 112 which monitors and controls supply and shutdown of power to the image forming apparatus 1 as well as startup and termination of the same; and a job management section 120 which monitors, in relation to print job data, the reception status of the print job data and the print execution status in a print execution section 150, and sequentially records information related to changes in each status as image management information. When the image forming apparatus 1 is started, the job management section 120 refers to the image management information, selects a print job data item that has not yet been subjected to print processing and needs to be printed among the entire print job data, and executes processing depending on the print execution status of the print job data item. The power management section 112 executes startup and termination of the image forming apparatus 1 as well as supply and shutdown of power on the basis of a detection result given by a user detection unit for detecting the presence/absence of a user.
