PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which ensures simpler discharge current control than conventional ones.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus 100, a controller 50 decides at least two or more second peak-to-peak voltages Vα1, Vα2, Vα3 associated with a ratio β of charging current with respect to one or more first peak-to-peak voltages Vβ1, Vβ2, Vβ3, derives and applies one peak-to-peak voltage Vpp equal to or larger than a discharge start voltage, on the basis of a first relational expression Yβ between the first peak-to-peak voltages Vβ1, Vβ2, Vβ3 and charging currents Iβ1, Iβ2, Iβ3, a second relational expression Yα between the second peak-to-peak voltages Vα1, Vα2, Vα3 and charging currents Iα1, Iα2, Iα3, and a predetermined discharge current ▵Iac.
