Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can accurately correct density unevenness in a sub scanning direction occurring due to a difference in rotational phase between a first rotating body and a second rotating body, compared with a case where the image forming apparatus corrects the density unevenness in the sub scanning direction without taking into consideration a rotational phase relationship between the first rotating body and second rotating body.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus detects the density of an image formed on an intermediate transfer body or a recording medium while the ratio of the rotational speed of a first rotating body to that of a second rotating body is changed, calculates first image density unevenness caused by the first rotating body from the detected image density, calculates a first correction amount for correcting density unevenness caused by the first rotating body from the calculated first density unevenness, and when forming an image, corrects the density of the image to be formed for every rotation of the first rotating body with the calculated first correction amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
