Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can set an optimal image formable area according to various transfer materials that have tabs and are not a uniform rectangle.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: document reading means for obtaining first image information by reading a document; and image forming means for forming an image on a transfer material, and the image forming apparatus comprises shape information processing means for obtaining shape information on a transfer material by processing image information obtained by setting the transfer material before formation of an image to the document reading means and reading the transfer material. When the shape information processing means detects a case where the transfer materials are not a uniform rectangle (S104), the image forming means sets a printable area according to the shape information on the transfer materials (S118).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
