Abstract:
To allow insertion of a sheet even without an insertion exclusive unit or a finisher and reduce the installation area of an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a main body unit, an image reading device, a document conveying device, a connection conveyance unit, and a control unit. The main body unit includes an image forming unit and a second sheet conveying unit. The second sheet conveying unit includes a second sheet conveyance path that connects the image forming unit and a sheet ejection port with each other. The document conveying device includes a document conveyance path and a switching guide. The switching guide guides a sent-out sheet to a document ejection tray or the connection conveyance unit. The connection conveyance unit includes a conveyance path for insertion that connects the switching guide and the second sheet conveying unit with each other through the image reading device. When the control unit sends an insertion sheet, it changes the posture of the switching guide to a posture to send the sent-out sheet toward the conveyance path for insertion and the second sheet conveyance path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
