Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can satisfactorily positively electrify an image carrier even when positive electrification and negative electrification of the image carrier are repeated and is excellent in wear resistance of the image carrier.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 110 comprises: image carriers 100Y, M, C, k; electrifying devices 42Y, M, C, K that positively electrify the surfaces of the image carriers; cleaning members 482Y, M, C, K that are in contact with the surfaces of the image carriers to recover toner attached to the surfaces of the image carriers; and a controller that controls voltage applied to the cleaning members. The controller applies a first voltage having a negative polarity to the cleaning members in a printing mode. The image carriers are an electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer is a single layer and contains a charge generating agent, an electron transport agent, a binder resin, and a hole transport agent. The electron transport agent includes a compound represented by a specific formula. The binder resin includes a polycarbonate resin having a main chain and a terminal group represented by a specific formula.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
