PURPOSE: To enable selection of various image output modes by enabling combination of first means for specifying the number of images to be formed on one side of a recording member and second means for specifying whether a picture image or picture images should be formed on one or two sides of the recording member.
CONSTITUTION: A recording paper is recorded with an image onto the first side then carried by means of a deflection cam 208 to a two-sided unit 14-1 side, and in case of the two-sided recording, the recording paper is passed through a carrying path 212 then inverted while in case of multiplex recording, the recording paper is passed through a carrying path 215 by means of a deflection cam 211 then stacked onto an intermediate tray 214 without being inverted. After being stacked on the intermediate tray 214, the recording paper is passed sheet by sheet through a carrying roller 217 to a resist roller 205 on the basis of a two-sided copy start command fed from a reader 10 or a disc apparatus. Then the recording paper is transferred with an image formed on a drum 200 similarly with the first side, thereafter passed through ad fixing device 207, a deflection cam 208, carrying roller 209, 210, a paper folding device 16, a paper binding device 18 and a boring device 20 so as to be discharged to a sorter 13.
