Title:
IMAGE FORMING DEVICE ADOPTING INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09251249
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To excellently perform cleaning of an intermediate transfer body (intermediate transfer drum), without making a device large.

When residual toner being positively electrified by a transfer member 50 is remaining, on the intermediate transfer drum 103 rotating counter clockwise, the positive electric charge of the residual toner is increased, by applying the positive bias on a cleaning roller 130 by turning a switch 5 ON. Then, the positive bias is impressed on the intermediate transfer drum 103 by turning the switch 51 ON, while the negative bias is applied on a photoreceptor drum 100 through an electrifier 111 by turning the switch 7 ON. Thus, the positively charged transfer residual toner is shifted from the intermediate transfer drum 103 to the photoreceptor drum 100. Since the electric charge capable of facilitating to shift is applied on the residual toner by the cleaning roller 130, the shift is excellently performed. Therefore, any container for recovering the transfer residual toner is not required.
