Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the aspect ratio of images of lines or characters to be formed to improve image quality.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus receives first image data including a plurality of first pixels indicating either one of whether to turn on or turn off the light source or the density of an image to be formed and tag data indicating respective attributes, sets specification data with which the first target pixels to be changed can be specified from the first pixels, sets the number of first pixels to be turned off in a first direction, sets the number of second pixels to be turned off in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, when converting the first image data into second image data having a higher resolution, specifies second target pixels corresponding to the first target pixels from second pixels included in the second image data on the basis of the specification data and the tag data, takes part or all of the second target pixels as the pixels to turn off the light source on the basis of the number of first pixels and number of second pixels to create the second image data, and controls the light source to perform image formation on the basis of the second image data.SELECTED DRAWING: None
