Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and an optional apparatus control program which are capable of further reducing the power consumption than the prior art.SOLUTION: An MFP is characterized by: shutting down power supply to an optional apparatus whose unused period exceeds a shutdown execution period; making a memorizing unit memorize a 'shut-down state' as a control state; upon a transition from a sleep state to a normal state, if the 'shut-down state' is memorized as the control state in the memorizing unit, cancelling an instruction that the optional apparatus is to perform an initial operation; when a plurality of optional apparatuses are instructed to execute specified printing (YES at S71), instructing all of the plurality of optional apparatuses whose 'shut-down state' is memorized as the control state in the memorizing unit to perform the initial operation (S73); and making the memorizing unit memorize an 'energized state' instead of the 'shut-down state' as the control state of each of the optional apparatuses instructed to perform the initial operation (S74).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
