A control part 3 of facsimile equipment 1 compares the number of digits for the number of copies to be printed transferred from a computer system 2 together with print data with the judged number of digits previously stored in a storage part 5 and when the number of digits for the number of copies to be printed is less than the judged number of digits, control is performed so that the print data can be transferred to a printing part 10 and printed but when the number of digits for the number of copies to be printed is more than the judged number of digits, control is performed so that the print data can be transferred to a data converting part 6, converted to facsimile data and transmitted through a modem 7 and an NCU 8 to the party of a facsimile number set by the number of copies to be printed. Thus, facsimile transmission and printing can be performed with simple operation.
