Projection parts 240 and recessed parts 242 are formed on the bottom surface of the applying tank 202 of a water applying part 80, and the stripes formed by the projection/recessed parts are inclined at a prescribed angle in a photosensitive material carrying direction and a direction orthogonal to the carrying direction. Thus, the original purpose of reducing the scraping of water by the leading end part of the photosensitive material is accomplished (the recessed parts 242 function as a relief path), and also, uneven striped applying and defective carriage are prevented.
