To provide an image forming device which solves problems in conventional techniques and meets the demand to neither bring about an overcurrent to an image carrier nor cause image degradation due to pollution of the image carrier, toner scattering, etc.
In the image forming device provided with a transfer member which presses the surface of the image carrier, the transfer member is like a roll and is provided with a conductive pressing material, which is a conductive material and of which the volume resistivity at the time of transfer is reduced by pressing to the image carrier, in the surface layer, and an inner conductive material which has a volume resistivity higher than a lower limit (Ms) of the volume resistivity of the conductive pressing material reduced by pressing is provided on the inside of the conductive pressing material.
