Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a type of recording material or the like without deteriorating throughput and thereby to appropriately perform image formation control.SOLUTION: A CPU 100 sets speed when performing the image formation of recording material P1 to v2 on the basis of results detected by a basis weight detection unit 30 and a surface property detection unit 40 while transporting a first sheet of the recording material P1 at v1 among a plurality of sheets of the recording material transported consecutively (t32-t33); performs image formation under a first condition by switching the speed of the recording material P1 from v1 to v2 (t34-t39) if it is determined that the first condition is used as an image formation condition (t33-t34); and performs image formation under a second condition while the speed of recording material P2 is kept to v2 (t44-t48) if it is determined that the second condition is used as the image formation condition when performing the image formation of the recording material P2 (t43-t44) on the basis of results detected by the basis weight detection unit 30 and the surface property detection unit 40 while transporting a second sheet of the recording material P2 at v2 (t42-t43).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
