Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that, when a recording material to be used is changed, can suppress a phenomenon where the recording material rubs on an intermediate transfer belt on the upstream side of the transfer part and thereby a toner image is disturbed without destabilizing the state of conveyance of the recording material at the transfer part.SOLUTION: A pressing member 55 presses an inner peripheral surface of an intermediate transfer belt 40 directed to a secondary transfer part T2 at a position in proximity to the secondary transfer part T2. A control part 50 controls drive motors M23, M43 on the basis of information acquired through an operation part 100 and sets a difference in peripheral speed between the intermediate transfer belt 40 and transfer belt 12, and thereby performs transfer of a toner image. When the weight of a recording material is less than 150 g/mper unit area, the control part 50 sets a difference in peripheral speed of 0.6%, and when equal to or more than 150 g/m, sets a difference in peripheral speed of 1.5%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
