Abstract:
To provide an image forming device which is configured to charge a photosensitive body with a single photosensitive layer by applying only a DC voltage to a charging roller and which is less susceptible to image density irregularity caused by a surface shape of the charging roller.SOLUTION: A charging roller 2Y provided herein is configured to be in contact with a photosensitive drum comprising a charge generator, charge transporter, and binder resin to charge a surface of the photosensitive drum upon receipt of just a DC voltage, and comprises a mandrel 20Y, base layer 21Y consisting of a conductive rubber layer, and a surface layer 22Y. The charging roller 2Y has a surface with a ten-point average roughness [Rz: JIS roughness standard B0601 ('82)] in a range of "0.9 μm to 8.5 μm, inclusive."SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
