Abstract:
To provide an image forming device which is configured to charge a photosensitive drum with a single photosensitive layer by applying only a DC voltage to a charging roller and which is capable of minimizing image density irregularity caused by downstream discharge generated between the photosensitive drum and the charging roller.SOLUTION: A charging roller 2Y provided herein is configured to be in contact with a photosensitive drum comprising a charge generator, charge transporter, and binder resin to charge a surface of the photosensitive drum upon receipt of just a DC voltage, and comprises a mandrel 20Y, base layer 21Y consisting of a conductive rubber layer, and a surface layer 22Y. The charging roller 2Y has a surface with a ten-point average roughness [Rz: JIS roughness standard B0601 ('82)] in a range of "20 μm to 35 μm, inclusive."SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
