Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely treat jamming with a simple constitution by making the distance from a nipping position to the exit sensor of a pair of fixing rollers shorter than the distance from the nipping position to the earliest contact position of a cleaning means or an oil coating means.
SOLUTION: The arrangement position of a jam sensor 31 is set to make the distance A from the nipping position to the sensor 31 shorter than the distance B from the nipping position to the contact position of a cleaning roller 21. A timer in a CPU is started by the detection of the tailing edge of a recording medium by a resist sensor disposed on the entrance side of a resist roller. Further, the rotation starting periods T2 of the roller 21 and an oil coating roller are set to be earlier than the arrival time T1 of the recording medium at the sensor 31 arranged in the exit a pair of the fixing rollers from the nipping position and later than time T3(T3=B/R, where R is the circumferential speed of the fixing rollers 17).
