Abstract:

To provide an image forming apparatus which is excellent in gradation in the whole area, free from granularity, and excellent in the gradation, even in an intermediate density area where light color toner and dark color toner coexist.

Regarding the image forming apparatus having a plurality of color toners for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier, and forming a toner image with the light toner and the dark toner with reference to at least one color among the plurality of colors, the apparatus is provided with an image quality checking means for checking the image quality of the image by using a patch image.
