To provide an image forming apparatus which can secure the priority right to use for a desired tray in a preceding job without upsizing the apparatus.

The image forming apparatus comprises a plurality of trays, a job storing means which sequentially stores a plurality of jobs, and a control means which judges whether or not a job to be stored is permitted to be stored in the job storing means. The control means permits storing into the job storing means only when an execution priority set for the job is lower than an execution priority set for the preceding job if the tray set to occupy in the preceding job stored in the job storing means earlier than the job is equal to the tray selected in the job.
