Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents the occurrence of a failure in paper ejection due to full load of sheets to be ejected, even after recovery from power outage or a power-saving mode.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 comprises: a paper ejection tray 197 on which sheets are loaded; a paper ejection full load sensor 196 that detects that the sheets on the paper ejection tray 197 has reached a predetermined amount; a counter that, after the sheets on the paper ejection tray are detected to have reached to the predetermined amount by the paper ejection full load sensor 196, counts the number of sheets P to be ejected; and a CPU that determines a full-load state of the sheet P on the paper ejection tray at a first timing at which the sheets on the paper ejection tray 196 has reached the predetermined amount and a second timing at which the count value of the counter has reached a predetermined value. After the apparatus recovers from a power-saving mode, when the sheets to be ejected are detected to have reached the predetermined amount by the paper ejection full load sensor, the CPU determines that the sheets are fully loaded on the paper ejection tray 196 at the first timing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
