Abstract:
To prevent a steady increase in drive torque of a photoreceptor drum and a rapid wear of a slide contact member.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus according to the present invention comprises: photoreceptor drums 8 that are rotatably provided; and slide contact members 27 that are rotatably provided, are each arranged inside the photoreceptor drum 8, and slide an outer peripheral surface against an inner peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 8. The image forming apparatus can execute a heating mode for bringing a difference in linear velocity between an inner peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 8 and the outer peripheral surface of the slide contact member 27 to a first value, and a torque reduction mode for bringing a difference in linear velocity between the inner peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 8 and the outer peripheral surface of the slide contact member 27 to a second value smaller than the first value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
