Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can achieve both transferability to a concavo-convex sheet and prevention of overcharging of toner.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus of the present invention comprises: an image carrier that has an elastic layer; and a transfer member that transfers toner images carried on the carrier to a recording medium. The elastic layer of the image carrier is provided on its surface with fine particles having a volume resistivity of 1×10Ω cm to 1×10Ω cm, and as the image carrier, one having a micro rubber hardness of 60 or less is used. Since the image carrier has the elastic layer (with micro rubber hardness of 60 or less), the image forming apparatus of the present invention can improve transferability to a concavo-convex sheet. The elastic layer is provided on its surface with fine particles with low resistance to prevent overcharging of toner. Thus, both transferability to a concavo-convex sheet and prevention of overcharging of toner can be achieved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
