Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that allows removal of a transfer unit from the image forming apparatus with a simpler operation, while preventing wear of and damage to the transfer unit.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has a pre-transfer guide 15 between a transfer unit 5 and a door with respect to the direction of removal of the transfer unit 5. The image forming apparatus has regulation means that regulates the position of a primary transfer roller 4d when the transfer unit 5 is removed from the image forming apparatus in a state where the primary transfer roller 4d is urged by a spring 18 and thereby a primary transfer part is formed. The regulation means regulates the position of the primary transfer roller 4d so that an intermediate transfer belt 9 and the pre-transfer guide 15 are not in contact with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
