A recording medium 1 consists of a recording medium material whose angle of contact sweepback is decreased, if heated in contact with a liquid and whose angle of contact sweepback is increased, if heated in non- contact with a liquid, provided on both faces of a substrate. In addition, after heating the recording medium 1, a latent image is formed on both faces of the recording medium 1 by thermal heads 4a, 4b heated in water based on a signal obtained by reversing the negative/positive parts of an image signal by a latent image forming part A. In an image development part B, an image is developed by sending the recording medium 1a carrying the latent image to a space between developing rollers 9a, 9b rotating in an arrow direction. Further, an image is formed on each of the front and the rear face of the recording medium 1a using inks 12a, 12b in conformity with the latent images.
