To improve unevenness in surface gloss due to peeling of a dye fixing element and unevenness in surface gloss due to drying after peeling in an image forming system using a photosensitive element and the dye fixing element.
The image forming method is provided, wherein at least one of a heat-developable photosensitive material and a dye fixing element contains at least one fluorine compound selected from fluorine compounds (A) represented by formula (a1) and fluorine compounds (B) having two or more fluorinated alkyl groups having two or more carbon atoms and 11 or less fluorine atoms and having at least one of an anionic hydrophilic group and a nonionic hydrophilic group. In the formula, R is an optionally substituted alkyl; Raf is perfluoroalkylene; W is H or F; La is an optionally substituted alkylene, an optionally substituted alkyleneoxy or a divalent group formed by combining these; at least one of A and B is H and the other is -Lb-SO3M, M is a cation and Lb is a single bond or an optionally substituted alkylene.
