To provide an image forming system that can add, to a sheet to which foil is transferred by a foil transfer device, an image for identification for individual identification of an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: In an image forming system A having an image forming apparatus 100, and a foil transfer device 1 that transfers foil being a thin film onto an image formed by the image forming apparatus 100, the image forming apparatus 100 comprises: an image forming unit 150 that forms an image; and a control unit 160 that controls the image forming unit 150 to add an image for identification for individual identification of the image forming apparatus 100 when forming an image to which the foil is not transferred by the foil transfer device 1, and not to add the image for identification when forming a grounding image to which the foil is transferred by the foil transfer device 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
