PURPOSE: To achieve an aimed function as an image forming device main body or system by properly adjusting the version of the image forming device main body in accordance with the version of a preprocessing peripheral machine.
CONSTITUTION: A control program and control data for adjusting the version for an additional function newly connected to a copying machine are supplied from an external managing device 2203 by using an image forming device managing system 2206. Meanwhile, a copying machine main body receiving an updated program from a communication control device 2201 stores the updated program in a nonvolatile RAM or a nonvolatile RAM. Thereafter, the copying machine main body controls the additional function newly connected based on the updated program. The updated program for the display and the control of a mode set screen caused by adding the new additional function is transmitted to an operation part unit and stored in the nonvolatile RAM.
