Abstract:
To provide an image forming system, an image forming apparatus, a portable terminal, and an authentication program in which authentication can be performed between an image forming apparatus and a portable terminal using short-range communication that is one-way communication without increasing the number of operation steps.SOLUTION: An image forming system comprises an image forming apparatus and a portable terminal that can communicate with the image forming apparatus. The portable terminal receives pieces of identification information from the image forming apparatus by using both first short-range radio communication that is one-way communication from the image forming apparatus to the portable terminal and second short-range radio communication that allows two-way communication between the image forming apparatus and portable terminal, and when the pieces of identification information match each other, transmits authentication information by using the second short-range radio communication.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
