Abstract:
PURPOSE: To generate a lip-synced animation which is rich in expression by generating a weighted parameter time series on the basis of the timing of vocalization, and performing multiple interpolation with the weighted parameter time series and generating an animation with variation in mouth shape.
CONSTITUTION: After interpolation parameters W0-W5 are generated for previously set mouth shapes on the basis of vocalization information, the weighted parameter time series W6 and W7 are generated on the basis of the timing of vocalization by using the vocalization information and the multiple interpolation is carried out with the weighted parameter time series W6 and W7 to generate the animation U3 which varies in mouth shape according to the vocalization information. Namely, the weighted parameter time series W6 and W7 are generated on the basis of the timing of the vocalization by using the vocalization information and the multiple interpolation is performed with the weighted parameter time series W6 and W7 to generate the animation U3 varying in mouth shape; and the advantages of the animation by the multiple interpolation method are utilized to generate the animation which is rich in expression without depending upon an object model.
