Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate handling of a file on a personal computer and a network and to form a high image quality print from its file when an image is recorded on a recording medium as a structural storage file. SOLUTION: Link information 3 to the image data of high bit resolution is stored beforehand as a part of the structural storage file in addition to the image data 6 of low bit resolution and various attribute information 2, and the data of the high bit resolution indicated by this link information 3 are used for forming the print. By controlling the data of 10 bits as the file different from the structural storage file, the size of the structural storage file is reduced, and the handling of the file on the personal computer or the network is facilitated.
