Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently utilize a magnetic tape.
SOLUTION: A packetizing circuit 1 receives and packetize a video stream input. An FIFO 3 stores an inputted packet. A representative image extraction circuit 4 extracts a represantative image from the inputted packet at a prescribed time interval and outputs the extracted image to an FIFO 5. Gap generation circuits 6, 7 respectively output gap data GAP-A, GAP-B for compensating the reaction time of a DVCR 12, corresponding to a control signal for recording start and stop outputted from a control circuit 11 to respective terminals 8c, 8d of a switch 8. The switch 8 switches terminals 8a to 8d, based on the selection signal from the control circuit 11. The DVCR 12 records a DIF packet inputted from an interface 10 in a magnetic tape based on the control signal from the control circuit 11. In addition, the DVCR 12 reproduces the DIF packet from the magnetic tape and supplies the reproduced packet to the interface 10.
