To make it possible to perform image inspection even when image processing or image editing is performed in an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image inspection device 10 according to one side of the present invention comprises: an image reading unit 210 that reads a sheet on which an image is formed by an image forming unit 400 to acquire a read image; a document image acquisition unit that acquires a document image; an inspection target area specification unit that specifies a printing area on a recording material based on an image forming condition for the document image, and specifies an inspection target area in the read image based on the specified printing area; and an image inspection unit 220 that compares an image in the inspection target area with an image in an inspection target area corresponding area corresponding to the inspection target area in the document image, to perform image inspection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
